About The Band
Homefire is a musical trio that takes pride in delivering pop, country, and folk hits from the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s, and beyond. An extensive and varied repertoire of top 40 hits usually has the audience tapping toes and singing along in no time at all. Led by the dynamic and multifaceted vocal offerings of Rusty Osborne and backed by the experienced and talented Dave Farr on bass and Molly Stevens Osborne on percussion, Homefire brings a sense of fun and professionalism to all occasions.

'Rusty' Osborne
In 1965 Rusty's parents bought a stereo console and joined a record club. His parents preference was country music. He was heavily exposed to the early albums of Merle Haggard, Johnny Horton, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Porter Wagner and many others. In 1963 he joined the high school band and learned to play the flute. A couple of years later, he was gifted a guitar from Sears Roebuck and Co. for Christmas. He recalls that it cost $14 and came in a cardboard box. His fingers bled as he learned to play that old Silvertone guitar. Rusty could then play and sing many of his favorite country songs. Like most teenagers in the 60’s, Rusty was fascinated with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival and other music of that period. In 1971, Rusty joined the Air Force and was stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, TX. He continued to perform in local bars, nightclubs and on the military club circuit for the troops. After discharge from the Air Force, Rusty relocated to Virginia for a short period of time before making the San Antonio area his permanent home. In 1988, Rusty Osborne, Bill Dewberry and Molly Stevens formed as a trio called 'Homefire'. Dave Farr eventually joined the band and remains an integral member. Homefire regularly performs with professional sidemen dependent upon the requirements of the engagement. -
Molly
'Molly B' Stevens
Molly was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. In high school, Molly developed a passion for drama and it remained her passion for seventeen years. Melodrama Theatre at Hemisfair Plaza was where you could generally find her performing her craft. She also offered her acting skills to other theaters in the San Antonio area. She made a career of theatre as well as performing in radio and television commercials. She was heavily involved with the San Antonio Fine Arts Center, a children’s theatre and took a lead role in running the program. Molly moved to Georgetown, an affluent suburb of Washington, D.C. and performed at a dinner theatre with a musical review until she returned to Texas. Molly moved to Austin and performed briefly at the Austin Melodrama Theatre. Molly had previously played drums in high school and confiscated a set of drums from her son. She fell in love with percussion and quickly became professionally proficient. Farewell to the theatre stage and hello to the bandstand. She joined the band 'Shoulders', an original band playing the Austin music scene for four years. She returned home to San Antonio and discovered Rusty Osborne performing and developed a professional relationship in 1988. They have been performing together with Homefire since. -

'Big Dave' Farr
Dave was born in Brooklyn, NY, spent his elementary school years in Lancaster, PA. He spent his high school years and young adult life in Yonkers, NY. Dave has been residing in San Antonio area since the middle 1970's. Dave served two years in the U.S. Army, including a year in Vietnam. He started playing guitar at the age of nine and became serious about music during the "British Invasion" of the 1960's. Other early musical influences include folk, soul, folk-rock, country and blues. After leaving the Army, Dave took an interest in bass guitar, which is his main instrument. In the summer of 1977, Dave was introduced to Rusty Osborne. This musical relationship that has lasted over 40 years. The key to the relationship has been each taking time out to work on other projects. They venture to other projects and reunite. Dave's other projects at this time are The Bryan Brothers Band (classic rock and originals) and Split Second (classic rock, pop and country).
